Grief Counseling in Florida

A private, steady space to make room for loss and find your way through the days that feel different now.

Support for what has changed

There is no right way to carry grief.

Loss can change the texture of everyday life. You may feel raw, numb, restless, angry, distracted, or unlike yourself. Some moments can seem ordinary, then a memory, date, or small detail makes the absence feel immediate again. However grief is showing up, you do not have to explain it perfectly before you deserve support.

Online grief counseling gives Florida adults a confidential place to speak honestly about what happened, what you miss, and what feels hard to carry alone. There is no pressure to move on or make your experience sound more manageable than it is. We can begin with what feels most present today, whether that is a person, a relationship, a change in your life, or simply the feeling that something important is no longer the same.

A space that can hold complexity

Grief rarely follows a straight line.

01

Loss can take many forms

You may be grieving someone you love, a relationship, a role, your health, a sense of safety, or a future you had pictured. Each loss can bring its own questions and its own weight.

02

Your feelings do not need a timeline

Grief can arrive in waves, stay quiet for a while, or return around holidays, anniversaries, and life changes. Therapy makes room for your experience without asking you to measure it against anyone else’s.

03

You can be supported where you are

Secure online sessions make it possible to meet from a private place anywhere in Florida, without adding a commute or an unfamiliar office to an already difficult season.

A place to speak freely

You do not have to make the loss smaller to be understood.

It can be exhausting to keep answering “How are you?” when the true answer feels too complicated, too heavy, or too private. Friends and family may care deeply and still not know what to say. You may be trying to protect them, hold everything together, or avoid becoming a burden. A therapy session can be one place where you do not have to do that work.

Grief counseling is not about forgetting, replacing what mattered, or reaching a finish line. It is a space to notice what the loss has touched in your life, name the emotions that are difficult to share, and make room for the parts of you that need care now. Over time, you can explore ways to stay connected to what matters while also tending to the life in front of you. That can include finding language for hard conversations, recognizing the moments that feel especially tender, and allowing your needs to be part of the picture too.

What we can explore together

Support that meets the real shape of your days.

The feelings beneath the surface

Sadness is only one part of grief. You may also notice anger, guilt, fear, relief, loneliness, numbness, regret, or worry about what comes next. Therapy gives those reactions room without judgment.

The moments that catch you off guard

Sleep, concentration, routines, relationships, and motivation can all feel different after a loss. Together, we can notice what is most difficult and find steadier ways to meet the moments that feel overwhelming.

The changes in who you are

Loss can reshape your sense of home, identity, purpose, or future. Sessions can be a place to talk through those shifts at a pace that feels honest, without forcing certainty before it is there.

When support may help

You do not have to wait for a crisis to make space for grief.

Sometimes the need for support is obvious. Other times, grief shows up more quietly. You may be going through the motions but feel detached from the people or things that usually matter. You may be tired of being the person who seems fine, uncertain why small tasks feel harder, or caught between wanting to talk and not knowing where to begin.

There may be days when memories feel close and days when you feel almost nothing. You may worry that you are grieving too much, not enough, or differently than the people around you. None of those reactions needs to be fixed before you can bring them into a session. They can be a starting point for understanding what you need.

Comfort Therapy offers a consistent, non-judgmental place to slow down and check in with yourself. Together, you can make room for the emotions, relationships, routines, and questions affected by the loss, while finding ways to care for yourself through the changes that follow.

English and Spanish sessions

Use the words that feel closest to your experience.

Grief can be hard to name in any language. Comfort Therapy offers online sessions in English and Spanish, or a combination of both, so you can speak in the language that helps you feel most understood. You are welcome to bring the memories, family dynamics, cultural expectations, and questions that are part of your own story.

Lissette Ciabattoni, LCSW brings more than 20 years of professional experience to a compassionate, collaborative approach. You set the pace for the work. Together, you can make room for what hurts while building practical support for the life you are still living.

Care that can be personal

You do not have to know exactly what you need before you reach out.

Some people come to therapy soon after a loss. Others arrive after months or years of trying to keep going, only to realize the grief is still asking for attention. Both are welcome. You can bring the story you are ready to tell, the questions you do not yet have words for, or simply the feeling that you do not want to carry this alone.

Online grief counseling can offer a consistent place to return to while you make sense of a changed relationship, a changed life, or a changed sense of self. The goal is not to rush your healing. It is to help you feel more supported as you move through it.
